The Fed Cup is the highest team event for women in tennis. It is the women's equivalent of the Davis Cup and was launched in 1963 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the International Tennis Federation.
Australia returns to the World Group Australia has won its way back into the Fed Cup World Group. The Australians will contest for the Fed Cup in 2011.
