South Perth Fiesta Cup
South Perth Tennis Club Inaugural Fiesta Cup
A Community tennis event. South Perth tennis Club is inviting all South of the river tennis players to register for its inaugural Fiesta Cup. A new event open to junior and open tennis players will match players of all ages and skills. On Saturday 21st March 2-6pm this first time community event is aimed at adding another family orientated community event at South Perth tennis Club to the annual South Perth Fiesta community activities. Marketing director Nigel McCombe said “The new event will offer trophies in four categories open men and women and junior male and female. The tournament format is mixed doubles handicap points system and players will need to have a current club ranking to enter” The club is putting on social and other activities and invites all players and their families to come and join the fun. We have a State Champion!
Official congratulations to Caitlin Cridland on her fantastic win in the WA Open - Girls 14 singles at the State Tennis Centre.
This is probably the major tournament on the WA junior calendar and Caitlin today beat the number 1 seed in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. She also beat a number of other very strong players in the earlier rounds that she hadnt beaten previously and was able to maintain the quality tennis throughout. She played a really smart consistent game and her opponent just couldn't match her. This big win comes on top of her recent win at a tournament in Alice Springs, Caity is a great girl and is playing great tennis so it looks like she is on her way!!
As you know the Cridlands are good, loyal South Perth Tennis Club members and we are delighted at Caitys success.
Glenn, her dad, has generously offered to shout the bar on the first Saturday of every month throughout 2008!

Location & Courts
Having been established in 1898, the club has a proud history of over 100 years of tennis in the City of South Perth. Today with perhaps with some of the finest grass courts in WA, the South Perth Lawn Tennis Club has 15 grass and 4 hard courts under lights and is located in Murray Street Como next to Penrhos College and opposite the Collier Park Golf course. A map showing our location can be found at the bottom of this page.

Please find below the club's dress standards. These are a guideline for what to wear while playing Tennis. If you have any thoughts, queries or concerns about what you (or anyone else for that matter) is wearing - please contact Vanessa Errol.

Club Activities
We offer both social and competitive tennis and a wide range of coaching programs.
Social tennis
Scheduled times are Saturdays 1.30pm, Wednesday evenings 5.30 pm and Thursdays 9.00am. Friday evenings during term are always a great night, with casual tennis or a drink at the bar for the adults while our coach runs Junior Club. Junior Club commences at 5.15pm and includes organised social tennis followed by a sausage sizzle.
If you are interested in becoming a member of our club please just come along and join in. Information regarding social play can be obtained from Mark Heptinstall on 0438 914 007.
Competitive Play
We have many teams competing in the Burswood Resort Tennis League run by Tenniswest. For information regarding play please call:

Coaching & Court Hire
Diego and Adriano have been recently appointed as Resident Tennis Coaches at South Perth Tennis Club. We'd like to briefly introduce the services. As a team of coaches and players with have a collective experience of approximately 30 years in the industry and over the past six years have worked with clubs, players, families and the like on every aspect of the game with much success. We would like to share this success with you! The coaches have a full range of programs . These include Junior Development Programs for all ages and abilities, Development Squads for the competitive players, Elite Training Programs, Adult Tennis/Fitness Programs & Leagues. Clubhouse Facilities & Hall Hire
The Clubhouse features a large indoor area, kitchen, dishwasher, bar and an extensive paved outdoor entertaining area. The clubhouse is available for hire for functions, meetings or social gatherings. Bookings and enquiries can be make by contacting Deb Mason on 0419 905 419.
